The latest listing of varieties marketed for the 2014 growing season has been released by the National Alfalfa & Forage Alliance (NAFA).

“Alfalfa Variety Ratings – Winter Survival, Fall Dormancy & Pest Resistant Ratings for Alfalfa Varieties,” was published in Hay & Forage Grower’s November issue and can be viewed on the NAFA website and the magazine's November digital issue.

The publication provides winter-survival, fall-dormancy and pest-resistance ratings of alfalfa varieties eligible for certification by seed-certifying agencies. All varieties listed in the Alfalfa Variety Ratings publication can be purchased in the U.S.

The listing can help growers choose varieties that will perform best in a given environment, says Jc.

The 2014 edition features 213 alfalfa varieties from 23 marketers and has been verified by the Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies (AOSCA) and the National Alfalfa Variety Review Board (NAVRB).

Low-resolution copies are available free at the NAFA website. Print copies are available for 50¢ each by filling out the order form found at that same website.
