Salinity management in alfalfa will be one of many topics up for discussion at the Alfalfa and Forage Field Day, set for Sept. 12 at the Kearney Ag Center in Parlier, CA. Fresno County Cooperative Extension is hosting the event.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with field tours starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 12:30 p.m.

Other session subjects will include: the importance of non-genetically engineered alfalfa for export or organic production, forage and grain-sorghum irrigation management research, the nitrogen benefit of alfalfa-wheat rotations and options for weed control in alfalfa.
