Forage-Based Beef Production Field Day Is Sept. 26

Research results on alternative beef production systems will be presented at the Forage-Based Beef Production Strategies Field Day, Sept. 26 near Dickinson, ND. Annual forage crop succession for extended-season grazing and an economic comparison of engineered feedlots vs. extensive grazing are topics to be covered.

The field day will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Manning Ranch headquarters, 22 miles north of Dickinson on Highway 22, and 3 miles west. A Four-State Ruminant Consortium administered by South Dakota State University, the North Dakota State University Dickinson Research Extension Center, the University of Wyoming and the University of Nebraska, along with the South Dakota State University West River Ag Center, funded the research presented.
