Insect Update: Ohio

Southern Ohio growers should look for alfalfa weevil larvae this week. Although central and northern Ohio are behind in accumulating heat units, growers in those areas should start scouting the next week or two, Ohio State University experts recommend. Detecting one or more large larvae per stem on alfalfa 12" or less tall shows that rescue treatment is needed.
