Kentucky Grazing Conference Is Oct. 30

The 8th Kentucky Grazing Conference will be held Oct. 30 at the Western Kentucky University Expo Center in Bowling Green. Scheduled morning topics include: Recovering from the freeze and drought of 2007, does grazing method matter?, options for summer grazing, experiences with teff, techniques for reducing MUD problems and improving pasture abused areas, and NRCS and extension -- working together on grazing. The Kentucky Forage and Grassland Council will hold its business meeting, awards program and silent auction after lunch, followed by the annual forage spokesperson contest. The meeting will adjourn at 3 p.m.

The registration fee will be $15, with students paying $5. A proceedings and other materials will be available, as will CCA credits. See the University of Kentucky forage Web site at www.uky.edu/Ag/Forage for more details.
