Minnesota Hay Expo Set For June 13

Economic fertilization of hay and pastures; hay preservatives, inoculants and baleage; and supplementing pastures for dairy heifers are just a few topics to be discussed at the annual Southeast Minnesota Forage Council & Minnesota Forage Association Expo, set for June 13, 2-7 p.m.

Held at the Dan and Cara Miller farm, Spring Valley, the expo will feature forage equipment demonstrations as well as additional talks on new hybrid alfalfa, insect scouting and control in alfalfa, new approaches to fencing and watering systems and using kura clover.

Speakers will include Dennis Cosgrove, University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and Dennis Johnson, University of Minnesota.

For more information, contact the Midwest Forage Association at 651-484-3888 or midwestforage@comcast.net or Dan Miller at 507-259-6270 or dmiller@myclearwave.com. For a pdf of the program and map, click here.
