Scammers Work Online Hay Lists

Hay & Forage Grower readers are warning of shay buyers working the online hay lists or directories around the country. Last week Judson Lindsey, Camden, AR, emailed that he was tested by two possible opportunists. For his story, visit hayandforage.com/hay/arkansas-hay-grower-sale-scam/

Another reader, Winston Preston, wrote late last week: "I am a hay producer near Lexington, KY. I produce, primarily, an alfalfa-orchardgrass mix. I read an article in Hay and Forage online (hayandforage.com) about unscrupulous people using our hay ads as a means to defraud. I have been deluged by these people. They are fairly easy to recognize by their poor grammar and their lack of knowledge of the hay business. I have had online ads in the Hay Barn.com, online auctions, etc. I just wanted to pass along that the person I read about was not an isolated incident."
