State Report - Pennsylvania

"Here in Pennsylvania, hay harvest is in full swing," reports David Fink, Heidel Hollow Farm, Germansville. "Quality is excellent but yields are short. Alfalfa is running 80% (of normal); mixed stands, 75%; and grasses, 60%. If we get rain in the next week we could see 10-20% increases."

Fink raises and sells dairy and horse hay from more than 900 acres along the southern slope of the Appalachian Mountains in east-central Pennsylvania.
