USDA Expects Tighter Milk-To-Feed Price Ratio
The recent USDA Livestock, Dairy and Poultry Outlook report suggests that fewer dairy cattle will produce more milk per cow in 2007, and says buoyant demand, both foreign and domestic, will lead to sharply higher prices for milk and dairy products. However, the report says higher corn and alfalfa prices are expected to depress the milk-to-feed price ratio despite the higher milk prices.
