Wisconsin Field Day To Cover Roundup Ready Crops

Four field tours will highlight this year's Agronomy and Soils Field Day on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the University of Wisconsin's Arlington Agricultural Research Station.

One tour will look at Roundup Ready cropping systems, understanding the Roundup Ready alfalfa controversy, how to apply the technology if the ban is lifted, and weed management over eight years in Roundup Ready corn and soybean fields.

There also will be a soils tour, a corn and soybean production tour and, in the afternoon only, a corn and soybean biofuels tour. Tours will leave the Public Events Facility at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. In the event of rain, presentations will be made inside. Lunch and refreshments will be available.

The Arlington station is about five miles south of Arlington and 15 miles north of Madison on U.S. Highway 51. Exit Interstate 90-94 at Wisconsin Highway 60 or U.S. Highway 51 at Badger Road and follow the signs.
