Having experts walk beginning graziers through their first few steps is invaluable, participants discovered at the early June Introduction to Grazing Workshop & Pasture Walk in Gibbon, MN. Midwest Grasslands' grazing specialist Howard Moechnig and pasture-walk hosts Loretta and Martin Jaus shared basic grazing concepts and tips. They talked about the best legume/grass species for reseeding, paddock locations and sizes and general forage-management strategies. The event was sponsored by the Land Stewardship Project's Farm Beginnings program.
