Hay & Forage Grower takes a look at how hay inventions reported on in the past are faring today. We visit with Gary Kelderman about his self-propelled big square baler as well as his new inventions, the BPT, or bale-picking truck, and a self-loading, power-floor semi trailer. Kenny Kuhns' bale accumulator is selling well and he, too, has another invention, the Tie-Grabber. Two other machines, Stan Steffen's Moble Hay Bale Repackaging Machine and Double D Supply's Clim.Air.50 hay dryer, are ahead of their time, their inventors say. The Krone 1270 Big Pack Baler, says Krone Regional product manager Kurt Stone, is more popular in Europe. The updated stories on the early innovations, as well as what some inventors have been busy with since, can be found in the stories, Tracking Forage-Equipment Trailblazers and Bales-Within-Bale Machine More Popular In Europe.
