Industry Invests In Cellulosic Ethanol
Private companies are making investments in cellulosic ethanol — from building pilot facilities and/or commercial biorefineries to developing enzymes and biomass varieties and hybrids.
They include Dupont, Monsanto, Syngenta, Chevron, British Petroleum (BP), Abengoa, Iogen, Poet, Range Fuels, Ceres, Inc., and more.
Industry and government, for example, have invested more than $1.2 billion toward biorefineries now in various stages of development. They will be located in Kansas, California, South Dakota, Virginia and Colorado.
