New Members For Nebraska Alfalfa Marketing Group

The Nebraska Alfalfa Marketing Association (N.A.M.A.) gained 18 new members, a reflection of having a supply of hay that's not quite the quality dairy producers want, speculates its executive director, Barb Kinnan.

“The weather was unkind to us this summer and there's a lot of hay in that mid-range; it's not quite dairy hay but better than grinding hay,” says Kinnan. “I think people are just looking for customers to move that. And they know we have the resources to help them pick up some new customers.

“That hay is definitely going to move because there isn't anything else out there. I still see us being out of hay by February or March; that's a very real probability.”
