Topdressed CLA Boosts Production

Supplemental conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) increased milk production but reduced milkfat percentage in a trial in The Netherlands.

During the 13-week trial, four levels of CLA were topdressed once daily for early lactation cows. Milk production increased as the CLA dose increased, topping out at a 10% gain. Milkfat content dropped with increasing CLA amounts.
