Tornado damage won't keep the 2009 Mid-America Alfalfa Expo from appearing at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds, says Barb Kinnan, executive director of the Nebraska Alfalfa Marketing Association, which hosts the annual event.

Last May, the arena building, where the expo has been held for several years, was severely damaged. New facilities are being built but not in time for the Feb. 3-4 expo. Instead, the event will be in two other fairground buildings that have been modified to provide heat.

“In essence we'll have slightly more square footage than we had the last couple of years, so we can add some more exhibitors,” Kinnan says.
