Forage Seminars At Expo
World Dairy Expo's annual dairy forage seminars will feature short talks on subjects from measuring silage bunker density to forages for replacement heifers to feeding grass with corn silage and alfalfa.
Forage experts from the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center, University of Wisconsin and other research centers will present cutting-edge information and answer individual forage research questions. The seminars will be held in the back of the Arena Building and will include:
Oct. 1: 10:30 a.m., Measuring Silage Bunker Density: Hands-On, On-Farm Techniques; 1:30 p.m., Cost-Effective Balancing Of Yield And Quality With Forages.
Oct. 2: 10:30 a.m., For Better Or Worse: How Rations Affect Rumen Microbe Populations; 1:30 p.m., Finding The Right Forages For Dairy Replacement Heifers.
Oct. 3: 10:30 a.m., Nutritional Reasons To Feed Grass With Corn Silage And Alfalfa; 1:30 p.m., Forage Grasses Are Not All Created Equal.
Oct. 4: 10:30 a.m., Now's The Time For More Forages In The Ration To Combat Rising Grain Prices.
