New Forage Contest Set For World Ag Expo
Forage growers from 11 Western states are invited to compete in a new forage quality contest to be held in conjunction with the Feb. 9-11 World Ag Expo in Tulare, CA.
Sponsored by Mycogen Seeds, the 2010 World Ag Expo Forage Challenge will include alfalfa hay, standard corn silage and brown midrib corn silage categories. All entries will be sent to three forage testing labs for analysis. Cash prizes will be awarded based on test results and visual appraisal.
Samples must be submitted to the University of California-Davis, along with a $25 entry fee, by Jan. 8. Download the entry form and contest rules at www.worldagexpo.com (using the search function, type in Forage Challenge).
