The annual American Forage and Grassland Council (AFGC) conference will be held June 11-15 at the Radisson Hotel, Bloomington, IL.

The conference kicks off with tours of dairy and beef grazing operations on June 11. The next day, participants have the option of touring two more intensive grazing operations, or visiting Illinois’ largest confinement dairy farm, Stone Ridge Dairy, and Illinois State University’s research farm and composting facilities.

On June 13, forage exhibits, demos and concurrent sessions relating to beef, dairy horses and small ruminants, plus tours, will be offered. The annual Forage Spokesperson Contest will be held at 4 p.m. that day.

Poster and oral presentations will be made on June 14, plus the National Hay Show and National Photo Contest winners will be displayed. The affiliate council meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m.; the AFGC business meeting at 4:30 p.m. The organization’s annual awards banquet is set for 7 p.m. The conference wraps up with an AFGC board meeting from 8 a.m. to noon on June 15.
