With registrations coming in at a rapid clip, organizers of the 2011 Western Alfalfa & Forage Conference and Biofuels Workshop, scheduled for Dec. 12-13 in Las Vegas, NV, are extending the early registration deadline through Nov. 18.
The cost for signing up by that date is $175/person. After Nov. 18, the price goes up to $195. The walk-up registration fee during the conference will be $225.
More than 430 people had registered for the conference as of last Friday, notes University of California Extension forage specialist Dan Putnam. A pre-symposium field tour with room for 260 attendees, slated for Dec. 11, has already sold out.
The Dec. 12 session topics will include economics, pest management, genetics, irrigation, fertilizers and more. Day two will feature sessions on forage quality, co-existence of Roundup Ready and conventional alfalfa and the biofuels workshop.
Another major component is a trade show featuring 70-plus exhibitors. "We have a few more exhibit spaces left," says Putnam. "Anyone interested in exhibiting will want to register as an exhibitor right away to secure a spot. There are also opportunities for company sponsorships."
