Producers from California and Wyoming were the big winners in the World Ag Expo Forage Challenge, announced Feb. 12 at the Tulare, CA, farm show.
A total of $18,000 in cash prizes was awarded through the Forage Challenge, presented by Mycogen Seeds. More than 90 entries were submitted from Western growers. Lallemand Animal Nutrition North America sponsored contest awards and prizes. First-place winners each received $3,000; second-place, $2,000; and third-place, $1,000 each.
Cash prizes were awarded based on forage lab analyses and a visual evaluation of entries by experts in dairy nutrition and forage production.
