Program information for the 2013 Western Alfalfa & Forage Symposium is now available online. The symposium and a farm-management workshop will be held Dec. 11-13 at Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno, NV.

This year’s symposium will include a trade show and educational sessions on industry trends and economics, water and environment issues, pest management in alfalfa, producing a quality hay product, and diagnosing and improving alfalfa production.

A pre-symposium workshop, focusing on enterprise budgeting and designing and building a family business, is also in the plan. It will take place from 1-5 p.m. on Dec. 11.

The symposium registration fee is $195 until Nov. 25. After that date, it will increase to $225. A separate registration will be required for the workshop. The symposium is sponsored by Cooperative Extension Services in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
