Forage producers planning to enter standard and brown-midrib corn silage samples in this year’s World Forage Analysis Superbowl (WFAS) have until Aug. 15 to submit entries. All other samples, for the dairy hay, haylage, baleage, commercial hay and grass hay categories, must be submitted by Sept. 5.

Total prize money for this year’s contest, held in conjunction with World Dairy Expo (WDE) in Madison, WI, is $22,000. In celebration of the Superbowl’s 30th anniversary, the grand champion forage winner will be awarded a $3,000 cash prize. That’s the highest single cash prize in contest history.

All winning entries will be on display in the Arena Building at the Alliant Energy Center grounds during WDE, scheduled for Oct.  1-5. Finalists, notified in September, will be invited to attend the Oct. 2 Mycogen Seeds awards luncheon at the Expo.

The Superbowl is organized in partnership with Dairyland Laboratories, Inc., DairyBusiness Communications, Hay & Forage Grower, U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison and World Dairy Expo.
