The Agricultural Safety and Health Council of America (ASHCA) will host a special workshop during Ag Connect Expo 2011’s Preview Day, Jan.7 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Proven, evidence-based strategies will be highlighted during the “Practical Safety and Health Risk Management in Production Agriculture” workshop.

Topics will include: creating a culture of safety among agricultural workers, training with a mobile safety trailer, utilizing safety competition to teach about hazards, reducing insurance premiums and a statewide agricultural safety certification program.

ASHCA will also hold its annual meeting on Jan. 6 in conjunction with the expo, which runs Jan. 8-11. Organized by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), Ag Connect Expo is a new farm show that showcases the latest industry innovations, products and technology.

“Ag Connect is a platform and industry gathering place for agriculture so holding the ASHCA events with Ag Connect saves time and money for attendees and enhances the industry networking at the show," says Charlie O'Brien, AEM's vice president agricultural sector.
