Continued light trade and a shortage of dairy quality hay for many reporting states. More new crop hay is being offered, but most of it is of lower quality. Some reports indicated that recent weather is more favorable and there is still hope to bale dairy quality hay before the season is over. Below are examples of alfalfa and grass prices being paid FOB (except for those noted as delivered, which is indicated by a "d" in the table below) for selected states at the end of the day on Friday, July 24. Large ranges for a particular grade and state are often indicative of location and/or bale size.
