A virtual forage revenue crop insurance listening session has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. CDT. The National Alfalfa & Forage Alliance (NAFA) is partnering with AgriLogic Consulting on a new alfalfa revenue crop insurance product that can benefit alfalfa farmers and the greater forage industry. NAFA has been working on this effort for many years. USDA's Risk Management Agency recently approved the concept to move into the development phase for this new insurance product. As part of this phase, AgriLogic and NAFA will be hosting a listening session for farmers and industry members to learn about the revenue-based product and provide input that will make the new product the best fit for the industry. The event will begin with an overview of the proposal being made by AgriLogic Consulting, which is a supplier of risk analysis products and services to the agricultural insurance industry. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to make comments and get any questions answered about the proposed risk management insurance program. To participate and be sent a link to the listening session, register by clicking here. To make this risk management tool the best it can be for farmers and the forage industry, it will be important that as many people as possible provide input into the development of this new insurance option. |
