AGRONOMY ESSENTIALS is our basic 12-week broad-based crops and soils course that provides understanding of agronomy and crop production practices for learners with or without a background in agronomy. It begins with understanding soils and nutrient management, then progresses through the growing season, crop development, pest management, and through to harvesting, storing and marketing the crop.

PRECISION AGRICULTURE is designed for professionals with at least a basic comprehension of agronomy, and is taught by recognized experts in the field. The course provides knowledge from which those working in agriculture can better understand the technical science of site-specific agriculture to help themselves, their customers and their company. Precision agriculture has transformed many aspects of crop production and promises more change in the future.

Both courses are available 24/7 from computers, tablets or mobile devices with internet access, making it convenient for working professionals. Both 12-week courses include high definition video lessons accompanied by reading, graphics, downloadable slides, and glossaries. To ensure comprehension, students must pass a test at the end of each module in order to proceed to the next module. Flyers for both courses, including course syllabi, are available. You may preview video lessons from the courses at http://tinyurl.com/purdueagry. Our webpage also includes a link to registration for individuals. Groups register through janblack@purdue.edu.

Course graduates receive a Certificate from Purdue Digital Education. Certified Crop Advisers also receive continuing education units: 25 CEUs for Agronomy Essentials; or 18 CEUs for Precision Ag. CEUs are largely based on the number of study hours anticipated for the course.

Tuition is listed on the registration sites linked from our webpage.
We offer an early registration discount for Certified Crop Advisers who register by September 14 with the code CCA300. Companies that sponsor four or more participants will receive discounted tuition. However, only one discount can apply.
