Low Supply Slows Hay Sales

Demand for high-quality alfalfa hay remains strong, but most of the 2011 crop has been sold. Quality hay may still be available in a few Northern Great Plains states, where prices have strengthened but remain lower than in most other areas.

These prices were gathered by USDA in early December. Figures followed by (D) are delivered prices. All others are at the farm. Pellet prices are for bulk sales.
