Watch for a new editor, new focus and a new look for eHay Weekly, the online weekly newsletter from Hay & Forage Grower magazine. The newsletter, in its sixth year of publication, provides weekly production, marketing and management information for hay growers and industry representatives.

Rick Mooney has become editor of the online newsletter. Mooney’s byline has been a regular part of Hay & Forage Grower for years. An ag writer for more than 25 years, Mooney has delivered in-depth stories utilizing his solid knowledge base in forages and the dairy industry. His experience will take the newsletter to a new level.

“I’m excited to be a part of eHay Weekly,” Mooney says. “I look forward to gathering forage-related news, boiling it down and making it accessible to hay growers and the forage industry.”

Mooney will provide first-person interviews weekly on a variety of forage-related topics. State reports will continue to be a vital part of the newsletter, as well as its handy calendar. The editors of Hay & Forage Grower will also continue to write for the weekly.

But its look will also “be spiffed up,” says Hay & Forage Grower Editor Neil Tietz. “We want to give the newsletter a new coat of paint but still have it be as easy to read as possible,” he says. A redesign of the newsletter is expected by mid-July.

Mooney replaces Lora Berg, a freelance writer from Lakeville, MN. Berg will become editor of a new online newsletter called Nutrient Management, published by Hay & Forage Grower, National Hog Farmer and BEEF magazines. Nutrient Management will debut on July 14th.
