The Tennessee Forage and Grassland Council (TFGC) will hold its annual meeting and trade show on Nov. 5 at Ellington Agricultural Center's Ed Jones Auditorium in Nashville.

“This is an especially good year to make the effort to attend,” says Gary Bates, University of Tennessee Extension forage specialist. “Several practical questions that producers have will be dealt with during the presentations.”

Grazing-management experts will also make presentations on the impact of grazing on animal and plant performance and the potential for glyphosate-resistant weeds will be discussed, Bates adds.

“This meeting is a great opportunity for any farmer who’s looking to produce forage and grasses as profitably as possible,” says Bates. “This is where Tennessee’s top producers will be, and if they can’t help you, they’ll know the other good producers in your area.”

A trade show and a silent auction will also be held.

Registration will begin 8:30 a.m. The cost is $25, which includes TFGC membership, lunch and a printed copy of the day’s proceedings. For more about the TFGC, contact your county's UT Extension office or Bates at 865-974-7208.
