Mountain View Seeds is proud to announce the release of their first alfalfa variety, MVS 4220Q into the U.S. alfalfa seed market. “Alfalfa is certainly core in developing and growing a broad and deep forage seed lineup,” said Jeremy Hayward, Mountain View Seeds Key Accounts Manager. “MVS 4220Q is one of those products that delivers on a lot of grower wants and needs in many key U.S. alfalfa production areas.

MVS 4220Q is a fall dormancy 4, winter hardiness 2 conventional alfalfa with superior yield, persistence and quality. It also carries a disease resistance index of 35/35 with high-resistance (HR) to multi-race Aphanomyces, high-resistance (HR) to stem nematode and spotted alfalfa aphid, and resistance (R) to pea aphid.

“MVS 4220Q really compliments the rest of our forage product lineup. These varieties are not only in high demand, but setting the bar in many product categories, university forage yield trials as well as real world applications for our growers across the country,” said Aaron Kuenzi, Mountain View Seeds Executive Vice President.

“We know the U.S. alfalfa market is a highly competitive one, but we also recognize growers are constantly looking for elite products that produce more milk, beef and hay. This is the type of product to help them do just that,” Hayward said.

MVS 4220Q will be available Spring 2020 through Mountain View Seeds distributors throughout the country.
