A New Beginning . . .
W.D. Hoard & Sons Company, the publisher of Hoard’s Dairyman magazine, announced today they have completed an agreement to acquire certain intellectual property assets related to the publication Hay & Forage Grower, including its database.
W.D. Hoard & Sons will introduce a refreshed look for the print magazine as well as the digital newsletters and websites. Additionally, a new editor will be announced soon and a print and online media re-introduction will also follow.
Gary Vorpahl, Hoard’s Dairyman V.P. of Marketing states, “The acquisition of Hay & Forage Grower combined with the expertise of the Hoard’s Dairyman brand gives us the dominant position in addressing bovine forage and feeding needs for all those who grow hay and forage crops for beef and dairy animals.”
“We feel Hay & Forage Grower is a perfect fit to further utilize our 130-plus years of editorial expertise in cattle feeding and forage production. Ultimately, this acquisition will allow us to focus on these important areas for the benefit of both readers and marketers alike,” said Vorpahl.
Hay & Forage Grower most recently had a reader audience combining over 60,000 print copy readers, with over 25,000-plus weekly email subscribers, and thousands of website visitors.
Hay & Forage Grower will be based out of Fort Atkinson, Wis., and printed by W.D. Hoard & Sons Company commercial printing division.
