The fourth and final hearing on the draft environmental impact statement for Roundup Ready alfalfa will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24, rescheduled after a snowstorm hit the East Coast area and shut down the government.

Meetings held in Nevada and Nebraska earlier this year were attended by people largely pro-Roundup Ready alfalfa, according to an Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) representative. The final meeting will take place 4-7 p.m. in the APHIS Conference Center, 4700 River Road, Riverdale, MD 20737.

That storm also extended the public comment period that was to close Feb. 16. Anyone who wishes to comment online has until March 3 to do so.
