Experts in livestock grazing will present graziers with ways to increase profitability at the March 9-10 Appalachian Grazing Conference, to be held at the Lakeview Resort, Morgantown, WV.
Topics will include forage quality, invasive species and their control, management strategies, soil sampling and fertilizer records and multi-species grazing. The conference will be especially informative to cattle, sheep, horse and goat producers in Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
Kit Pharo, of Pharo Cattle Co., Cheyenne Wells, CO, will talk on grassland management. His philosophy of “optimum product for optimum profit” focuses on increasing production without increasing expenses. Troy Bishopp of the Bishopp Family Farm in Deansboro, NY, will speak on ways to improve grasslands.
