The California Alfalfa & Forage Symposium, one of the biggest forage meetings in the country, will be held Dec. 11-13 at the Modesto Doubletree Hotel.

A Dec. 11 presymposium field tour will kick off the event.

On Dec. 12 and 13, presentations by University of California experts and others will be made. Session topics will include: Industry Trends and Policy Influences; Forage Quality and Harvest Management; Pest Control, Markets and Regulation; Producing Organic Alfalfa; Integrating Forage, Livestock and Nutrient Cycling; Markets, Irrigation and Profitability; Managing Forages for Optimum Profitability; Overview of Different Forage Crops; and Corn Silage and Alternative Forage Production and Management.
