Productive, Fuel-Efficient Models
The Fendt 900 Series tractors, from Agco Corporation, give speed, fuel efficiency and in-field productivity. Their Deutz 7.4-liter, six-cylinder engines, coupled with the stepless ML 260 Vario continuously variable transmission and tractor management system, give exceptional fuel efficiency. Ranging from 220 to 360 engine hp, the six-model series features increased biodiesel compatibility and the ability to fit some of the largest tires available. The ML 260 provides maximum drive-train efficiency during heavy-duty traction work and high-speed road transport.
Fuel-Efficiency Winner Is Rugged, Too
The Massey Ferguson 8600 Series 205- to 275-pto-hp tractors are the most fuel-efficient in their category, according University of Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory test results. The series' Agco Sisu Power 8.4-liter engine, with e3 clean-air technology, continuously variable transmission and tractor management system, delivered up to 17% better fuel efficiency than similar tractors. Its rugged chassis-rail frame, combined with a sculpted front-axle support casting, provides a solid foundation and a tighter turning radius. The heavy-duty front axle handles larger draft loads and weight.
8R Series Increases Horsepower
John Deere's 8R Series tractors include six wheeled models ranging from 225 to 345 engine hp and three 8RT track models ranging from 295 to 345 engine hp. Cab upgrades include a roomy work environment equipped with integrated, easy-to-use monitors and controls and enhanced visibility. All 8R and 8RT models are powered with the 9.0-liter John Deere PowerTech Plus engine that meets current Tier III emission standards.
Front-Wheel Drive, Smooth Speed
Versatile introduces its MFWD 190- and 220-hp tractors with Cummins QSB turbocharged 6.7-liter engines and pto hp of 155 and 180, respectively.
The 190 offers a power bulge of 3% at 1,900 rpm and a 51% torque rise at 1,400 rpm. The 220 model's power bulge: 5% at 2,000 rpm; its torque rise: 33% at 1,500 rpm. The series' partial powershift transmission offers six-speed syncro ranges with four powershifts per range. The closed-center load-sensing system hydraulics offer maximum system pressure of 2,900 psi.
Clean-Air Technology,Undiminished Torque
The Challenger MT600C Series tractors feature Agco Corporation's e3 selective catalytic reduction clean-air technology that treats exhaust to meet current Tier III and future EPA standards — while providing undiminished horsepower and torque as well as increased fuel efficiency. The MT600C Series had up to 17% better fuel economy than competitors' machines, according to University of Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory test results. Their TechStar continuously variable transmissions with Power Management provide infinitely variable forward speed selection up to 31 mph. The series ranges from 206 to 275 pto hp.
Award-Winning Auto Command Series
The turbocharged T7000 Auto Command Series tractors from New Holland are powered by NEF engines providing between 167 and 225 hp. The four models run on 100% biodiesel, with new-generation Auto Command continuously variable transmissions. The series includes the T7030 with 135 pto hp, the T7040 with 150 pto hp, the T7050 with 165 pto hp and the T7060 with 180 pto hp. The series was named Tractor of the Year for 2010 at Agritechnica, the world's largest show for ag machinery and equipment.
Speed Control Offers Precision
Massey Ferguson's 7497 and 7499 tractors, with 165 and 180 pto hp, respectively, come with the Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission for optimum power, engine speed and fuel efficiency. The clutchless transmission boasts a smooth, infinitely variable-speed control, offering versatility and precision. The dynamic tractor management system manages engine speed automatically. When pulling a forage harvester or baler, these technologies let operators set optimum rpm or ground speed, then engine and transmission work together to maintain these parameters. Both tractors are powered by 7.4-liter Agco Sisu Power engines.
Magnum 225 Is Efficient
The Case IH Magnum CVT 225 tractor adds power and fuel efficiency when working at field speeds or pulling a load. Standard on the 225, its continuously variable transmission (CVT) is simple to use, with no programming required or complicated settings to change. The 225 has 195 pto hp and is equipped with Power Boost for more power to handle steep grades or tough crop conditions. It has roughly the same horsepower and pto range as the original Magnum 7100 series tractors, with a fuel-efficient 6.75-liter Case IH engine that's fully biodiesel compatible. CVT is also available on Magnum 180, 190 and 210 models.
Handles Tough Haying Jobs
Challenger's 165- and 180-pto-hp tractor models MT585B and MT595B boast standard electronic three-point hitches and optional front ptos. The models are powered by the Agco Sisu Power 74CTA engine, which gives fuel economy and high pulling power at low speeds. The TechStar continuously variable transmission has fewer moving parts of any stepless or powershift transmission in the industry, according to the company. Operators can set the system for a specific ground speed and optimum rpm and the transmission and engine will work together to choose the most efficient engine speed for maximum productivity.
Delivers Strength In Small Spots
New Holland's 140-pto-hp T6090 tractor, replacing the T7030 model, packs more horsepower into a shorter wheelbase to fit into restricted spaces and make tighter headland turns with hay tools. Its design, maneuverability and light weight, combined with large-diameter tires, offer low levels of ground compaction. The machine keeps gross weight down and allows payloads to be maximized for higher productivity. The six-cylinder model is available with a full 18 x 6 Power Command transmission with power shift through each gear.
M-Series Mid-Size Provides Power
The most powerful of four new additions to Kubota's M-Series deluxe mid-size ag-utility tractors is the M135X, with a 374-cubic-inch, turbocharged, direct-injection diesel engine. The 135-hp tractor features the 16F/16R Intelli-Shift transmission, with an eight-speed dual-range powershift for 16 gears in forward and reverse. The M100X, M110X and M126X have 97.7-, 107.5- and 125-hp engines, respectively.
