Kubota Tractor Corporation today introduced two new silage balers and a new trailed disc mower roller conditioner to its hay tools offerings, solidifying the company’s position as a full-line hay and forage equipment provider. The expanded hay tools line brings to market new variances in its popular round baler line including the BV4160SS and BV4180SS for the silage market, and the DMC8540R, a true full-width conditioner in a 13 ft. roller machine.
The introduction of the new hay tools continues to demonstrate Kubota’s commitment to the agricultural market and positions the company as a full-line hay product supplier. “Our entrance into the hay market nearly three years ago was an all-in commitment. And these new balers make sure we are able to meet the demands of our hay customers in markets where silage is starting to develop, enabling them to produce a feed source of much higher quality for their livestock,” said Dave Palmer, senior product manager of Kubota hay tools. “Our dealers continue to provide us with good feedback on what their customers need in the changing market environment, and we respond by developing the products that they not only need, but ones that makes their lives better by making their operations more efficient.”
New Hay Tools with Long-Standing Reputation for High Quality
In 2012, Kubota Corp. acquired Kverneland, which was originally founded in 1879 and has greatly contributed to the agricultural industry with an impressive number of product innovations and concepts. Since that time, the full-line of hay implements and balers have been introduced with the Kubota brand name along with a reputation for well-engineered, high quality equipment and proven performance.
Delivering the Right Hay Tools for the Silage Market
Kubota’s new round baler series will include two new models – the BV4160SS and the BV4180SS – that are designed specifically for producers who need the additional silage features. Whether it is baling silage, hay, or straw, the BV4160SS is a high capacity 4-ft. wide by 5-ft. high variable chamber baler that is ready to meet the ever-changing demands of farming.
For a classic, can-do silage model, the BV4160SS comes complete with silage scraper kit for wet haylage and a proportional valve to enable the operator to adjust the bale density on the go. For larger bale production, the BV4180SS delivers 4-ft. wide and 6-ft. tall bales, plus all the features of the BV4160SS model. Both new models are fitted with a fork feeder intake system providing direct feed into the bale chamber for fast and efficient baling. All Kubota BV4160SS and BV4180SS balers come with the Kubota Power Bind Net system, for simple, fast and efficient production bale after bale.
New Disc Mower Roller Conditioner is a Cut Above the Rest
Kubota also introduced a new disc mower conditioner, the DMC8540R, which is a 13 ft. mower conditioner with full-width chevron conditioner rollers that can handle fragile crops with even conditioning across the full width for superb swath formation and even drying of the crop. The new mower features Kubota’s own patented, fully-welded cutterbar and full-width conditioning, which sets Kubota apart from the competition. All Kubota DMC mower conditioners are designed to ensure a high level of durability, low maintenance and quiet operation. With three counter-rotating blades per disc, Kubota mowers are constantly cutting, which allows for one-third less load per blade, an even load on the drive, and smoother power use to produce a neat, clean cut each and every time. The new DMC8540R also offers outstanding suspension, enabling the DMC8540R to follow any type of ground contours as well as giving maximum protection to the cutterbar to ride over obstacles in the field.
