For the seventh year, $14,000 will be awarded to five students in 2021, applications due Sept. 30

Lallemand Animal Nutrition is excited to offer, for the seventh consecutive year, the Lallemand Forward Scholarship for students pursuing degrees in agriculture. The 2021 program offers: two $2,500 undergraduate scholarships, one $3,000 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine scholarship, one $3,000 master’s program scholarship and one $3,000 doctoral scholarship. Applications are open to students in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

“Over the past several years, we have received an outstanding number of applicants with a strong passion for the industry,” says Jeff Ast, Commercial Director, North and South America, Lallemand Animal Nutrition. “Our continued investment into the program is driven by our company goals of enhancing knowledge and production practices, while continuing to help drive the animal agriculture industry forward.”

Criteria for undergraduate scholarship applicants are:

  • Must be a full-time student, pursuing a four-year degree in an agriculture-related program
  • Hold junior status or higher (minimum of 60 credit hours)
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
  • Must submit the Forward application, unofficial or official transcripts and a 500word essay answering one of three essay questions found in the full guidelines


Criteria for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine scholarship applicants are:

  • Must be a full-time student, in their third year of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program focused on production animals
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
  • Must submit a 300 to 500 word statement on their career plans after graduation
  • Must submit the Forward application, unofficial or official transcripts and a 500word essay answering one of three essay questions found in the full guidelines

Criteria for master’s and doctoral scholarship applicants are:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited master’s or Ph.D. program in animal science, agricultural science or a related field
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
  • Must submit the Forward application, synopsis of work, unofficial or official transcripts and a 500-word essay answering one of three essay questions found in the full guidelines
