New cool- and warm-season grass varieties, alternate-row grass-legume ideas, row-spacing requirements for irrigated and dryland forage crops and a review of a grass hay nitrogen fertilizer rate study.

Those are topics to be covered at a series of Alternative Forages for Extending the Grazing Season and Hay Production seminars in northeastern Wyoming next month. The free seminars are scheduled for April 5 in Sundance, April 6 in Wright and Recluse, and April 7 in Buffalo. All seminars will run from 6 to 8 p.m., except for the one in Wright, which will take place from 10 a.m. to noon.
