Information on forages will be presented at several seminars scheduled to take place during the 2001 World Dairy Expo, running Oct. 3-7 in Madison, WI.
The seminars will be held at the World's Forage Analysis Superbowl display area in back of the Arena Building at the Alliant Energy Center. They'll be presented by forage experts from the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center, University of Wisconsin and University of Illinois.
Dates and topics include:
Oct. 4 — Determine Fiber Digestibility: Laboratory, Cows and Relative Feed Value.
Oct. 5 — Evaluating Corn Silage Hybrids and Managing the Nutrients N & P.
Oct. 6 — Sustainable Crop Systems for Dairying, and Forage Particles: Too Long or Too Short for Optimal Performance.
Starting time is 10:30 a.m. for all seminars except for the ones on managing N & P and particle lengths, which begin at 1:30 p.m.
The presenters will also be available to answer questions from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. each of those days.
