Farmers and other agribusiness people who want to become better connected via social media may want to attend the 2014 AgChat Cultivate & Connect Conference, set for Aug. 21-22 in Austin, TX.

“The task of using social media to tell our stories can be daunting,” reports Jenny Schweigert, AgChat Foundation communications director. But conference speakers will explain various social media platforms, ways to use them and the newest technologies – such as smartphones and other mobile devices – that make social media tasks more manageable, she notes.

Tips will also be offered on video production, photography, podcasting and more.

“Our conferences provide high-quality training while also allowing for attendees to network with skilled social-media gurus who are always eager to help,” she says. “And with private Facebook groups for each conference, attendees can continue to build relationships well after the event has concluded.”
