University of California (UC) Extension will hold an Alfalfa and Biofuels Field Day on May 9 at its Agronomy Field Headquarters in Davis. The event will run from 12:45 to 3 p.m.
Topics to be addressed include establishing alfalfa stands for weed management and stand longevity, economics of different weed control strategies, using buried drip in alfalfa, choosing alfalfa varieties for yield and pest resistance and more.
A small-grains session will be held at the same location earlier that day. A barbeque lunch will be provided by the California Crop Improvement Association. No advanced registration is necessary.
