New-Crop Hay Prices Soften

Prices for high-quality hay are mostly in a holding pattern as the winter feeding period ends. In states where new-crop hay is coming in, those prices are well below the late-winter peaks. Demand is down and much of the new crop is going into storage.

These prices were gathered by USDA in late April. Figures followed by (D) are delivered prices. All others are at the farm. Pellet prices are for bulk sales.
