Forages will play an important role in next week’s Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, set for July 20-22 at Peterson Family Farm, River Falls.

Hay and silage equipment manufacturers will demonstrate the latest mowing, merging, chopping, bagging, baling and bale wrapping equipment twice each day, and numerous companies selling forage-related products and services will be among the more than 500 exhibitors.

Other highlights of the event, Wisconsin’s biggest farm show, will include precision manure application demonstrations, small-grain combining and straw harvesting, and tours of the host farm and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls’ Mann Valley Farm.

Peterson Family Farm is operated by Roger and Beverly Peterson and their five children. They recently expanded their herd and built a 250-cow freestall barn and milking parlor when a son and daughter decided to return to farming.
