The Missouri Dairy Grazing Conference, until last Friday scheduled for July 6-8 at Joplin's Holiday Inn Convention Center, has been moved to the expo center at University Plaza Hotel in Springfield.
Although the convention center wasn't damaged by the EF5 tornado that hit Joplin on May 22, "it has become a major support facility for multiple agencies needed to sustain displaced residents and facilitate the rebuilding effort," say conference organizers. "Over the past week, that need has continued to grow."
The conference will include presentations on the latest information related to dairy grazing systems, plus a trade show with 30-40 exhibitors. Tours to local pasture-based dairy operations will take place before and after the event. For program details and hotel information, click here.
The registration fee is $150 per person, with $100 for each additional person from the same farm. After June 20, a $25 late fee will be added. Conference proceedings will be available for $25 in hard copy or free on the University of Missouri Extension dairy program Web site.
