Growers can get summer forage fertilization advice at an April 6 Webinar featuring Texas AgriLife Extension forage specialist Larry Redmon of College Station.

The free live broadcast will start at 6 p.m. and be available simultaneously to producers at the Taylor County AgriLife Extension office in the Taylor County Expo Center; the Callahan County AgriLife Extension office in the county courthouse in Baird; and the Anson High School Agricultural Science building in Anson.

Fertilization will be the key to taking full advantage of the wet spring West Texans are now enjoying, says Robert Pritz, AgriLife Extension agent in Taylor County. “Fertilizer management is an important part of optimal crop production. Several specific nutrients are required for adequate growth of forages. We’ll cover those as well as soil testing, timing and maximizing production while minimizing input costs.”

Space will be limited, so growers are asked to preregister by April 5 at the AgriLife Extension office they plan to attend. To preregister or for more information, call one of the following AgriLife Extension offices; Taylor County, 325-672-6048; Callahan County, 325-854-5835; or Jones County, 325-823-2432.
