Hay movement has remained mostly light in recent weeks, but prices have edged up in a few states as buyers vie for scarce supplies.
Overall demand has softened because some livestock producers are stretching their hay inventories, trying to hold on until lush pastures and new-crop hay become available.
These prices were gathered by USDA and other sources in mid-March. Figures followed by (D) are delivered prices. All others are at the farm. Pellet prices are for bulk sales.
