Hay & Forage Grower is pleased to welcome Lauren Peterson as its summer editorial intern for 2017. Peterson, who will enter her senior year at Kansas State University in the fall, brings with her a number of diverse agricultural experiences.
While at Kansas State, Peterson is majoring in agricultural communications and journalism with a minor in animal science. The Wyanet, Ill., native previously attended Black Hawk College in Galva, Ill., where she received an associate degree in agriculture and was a member of the horse judging team, participating in contests throughout the United States. She's a member of the Horseman's Association.
Since transferring to Kansas State, Peterson has become a member of the school’s Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) chapter and works part time at the KSU dairy unit where she helps with the feeding and care of the farm’s livestock.
Working at Hay & Forage Grower, Peterson will provide content and aid in the production of eHay Weekly. She will also write feature articles for the magazine and be actively involved in posting content to our various social media and website platforms.
During the past two summers, Peterson worked at Marquis Energy, Hennepin, Ill., in various office capacities and as a scale operator. Marquis Energy is the largest dry-mill ethanol facility in the United States.
