Hay & Forage Grower is pleased to announce the return of Amber Friedrichsen as our 2022 summer editorial intern. By now, many of our readers recognize Friedrichsen’s byline as she served as last summer’s intern and continued to write for eHay Weekly after returning to Iowa State University.

Pursuing a double major in agricultural communications and agronomy, Friedrichsen will enter her senior year at Iowa State in the fall. She has a passion for regenerative agriculture and, in particular, the role of forage crops.

The Iowa native grew up and worked on her family’s diversified crop and livestock farm near Clinton. While at Iowa State, she has served as the president for the school’s Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow chapter.

Since August 2019, Friedrichsen has been a writing intern for Iowa State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Communications Department. She also wrote for the Iowa State Daily, the university’s newspaper.

During the summer of 2020, Friedrichsen served as an editorial intern for Farm Progress’ Wallaces Farmer where she wrote articles for the magazine and their website.

As the editorial intern at Hay & Forage Grower, Friedrichsen will continue to provide content and aid in the production of eHay Weekly. She will also make farm visits, write feature articles for the magazine, contribute to our photo database, and be involved in posting content to our various social media and website platforms. Friedrichsen began her internship on May 16.
