USDA's November Agricultural Prices report pegged the average U.S. price for all types and quality grades of hay in October at $146 per ton, up $1 per ton from September but $25 per ton lower than 2014 (see table). Alfalfa price in October was reported at $156 per ton, down $1 from September but $37 per ton lower than a year ago. Hay other than alfalfa increased by $5 per ton to $124, which was $4 lower than 2015 (data not shown).
